HOW CAN I JOIN THE CEDAR HARMONY CHORUS?

You start by regularly attending rehearsals, as our guest. Once you learn one of our songs
well enough to feel comfortable with your part (generally after attending about four
rehearsals), our director and music committee will listen to you sing your part in that song
with a quartet. This is to assess your ability to learn and sing your part.
Don't worry!!
It's very informal, completely non-threatening and even fun! It's not done in front of the
whole chorus.

CAN I REHEARSE WITH A QUARTET BEFOREHAND?

Certainly! We'll help you select a song to use, and also will assemble a rehearsal quartet
for you to work with, if you'd like.

WHEN AND WHERE ARE REHEARSALS HELD?

We rehearse every Monday night, from 7:00 to 10:00, at Valley Lutheran High School at
the corner of Greenhill Road and Rownd Street in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

ARE THERE FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR BELONGING TO CEDAR
HARMONY?

Yes, there are. Members are responsible for local chapter and international dues, and
some costume, makeup, competition and miscellaneous expenses. We try to keep all of
these as low as possible. We would be happy to discuss the details with any prospective
members.

DO YOUR MEMBERS HAVE "REAL LIVES?" THIS SEEMS LIKE A PRETTY
BIG COMMITMENT.

Yes, all of our members have "real lives." They juggle families and careers or other
demanding personal responsibilities -- just like you do! They also love to sing, and love the
camaraderie, sisterhood and pure fun they find in singing with Cedar Harmony; it's a
hobby that is so much more than "just" a hobby. After all, where else but in a Sweet
Adelines chorus can "ordinary women" become divas?
